Profile

Robert Streak graduated with an Honours Town Planning degree at the end of 1991 at Potchefstroom University. In 1993 he started his professional career with the firm DWP Consulting Engineers.

In 1994 Robert Streak established the town planning firm URBAN CONSULT. Since then he was actively involved with HOUSING DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS and TOWNSHIP ESTABLISHMENT related projects in various Provinces throughout South Africa. During the past 20 years he has successfully done the planning, design and administration for almost 280 new housing development projects ranging from low cost, affordable developments to exclusive security estates, 6 golf estates and wild life resorts, consisting of ± 90,000 units, and numerous proposals for new housing projects as well as the upgrading of informal settlements was done for various municipalities and developers.

Valuable experience has been obtained in terms of planning legislation that governs development applications in South Africa. We recognize the fact that equal opportunities must be given to previously disadvantaged individuals and therefore, since 2001 Urban Consult has given assistance to numerous students who joined the firm, to complete their studies.

Housing Project Experience

The following projects have been successfully done whereby we have rendered all planning related and township administration functions to private developers as well as local municipalities who acted as developers of housing projects through the subsidy housing process.
